Biography:
Xavier Lust (Bruges 1969 - ) is a Belgian designer who studied interior architecture at the Institut Saint-Luc in Brussels, from which he graduated in 1992 to set up his studio. Since 1999, he has specialised in the use of metal, developing an experiment based on new techniques for deforming metal sheets. This technique, applied to various pieces of furniture (notably Le Banc developed for MDF Italia, Crédence for De Padova and PicNik for Extremis), has brought him to the fore and he has taken part in several exhibitions across Europe. He works for Driade, De Padova, Extremis and MDF Italia, among others.

Awards:
- Young Talent of the Henry Van de Velde Prize in 2003.
- Good Design Awards from the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design in 2004 (for his PicNik table, published by Extremis).
- Special Mention at the Compasso d'Oro in Milan, 2004 (for its Grande Table).
- In June 2007, the Grand-Hornu devoted an exhibition to him.
