Biography:
Simone Toussaint (1940 - 2004).
Belgian artist from Namur, exuberant and monumental expressionist figurative painter and sculptor, student of Y. Gerard and Jean-Pierre Félix, teacher of Plastic Arts at the Félicien Rops Institute in Namur. Created an obsessive world, painting male and female figures (painting or sculpture), deformed and often naked, to the point of caricature, certainly influenced by Egon Schiele...
Winner of the engraving prize in 1971, she has illustrated numerous works of literature.
Numerous exhibitions in Belgium and abroad since 1978, mainly in Brussels, Liège and Knokke.
Abroad in Paris, Hardelot, New York, Miami, Amsterdam and Munich.
Most of her work can be found in Belgium and France, where she has lived since 1993.
