JEAN LUCE for Villeroy & Boch Luxembourg, Art Deco ceramic vase with handles, ca 1930.
Vase in perfect condition.
Jean Luce (1895-1964) started out as a goldsmith, but in the 1920s became a designer of refined ceramics influenced by the Art Deco aesthetic. In the 1930s, he collaborated with Villeroy & Boch Luxembourg, favouring pure forms and sober geometric designs. Through this manufacturer, he produced fine earthenware and porcelain pieces that combined elegance with high-quality industrial production. His work reflects the ideal of bringing together art and industry, which was very prevalent at the time.
