Oil on panel depicting a landscape of lake and snow-capped mountains, painted at the beginning of the 20th century by the Antwerp painter Léon Delderenne during a trip to Europe, probably to Switzerland.
In a post-impressionist style, around 1900 / 1910.
Painting in good condition, which would nevertheless need a good cleaning and new varnish, possible on request (it will cost about 100€).
Biography:
DELDERENNE Léon is a Belgian post-impressionist landscape painter born in Antwerp in 1865 and died in Hoogboom in 1921.
A student at the Antwerp Academy (J. Van Luppen), he worked in Kalmthout and the Kempen and travelled around Europe in a caravan, looking for picturesque places like this mountain scene.
