Large (50cm) brown ceramic ball vase made by Antonio Lampecco in Maredret in 1983.
This sculpture-like vase is signed and dated 1983 on the underside of the base.
Imposing in size, it reflects the skills and technical mastery of internationally acclaimed ceramist Antonio Lampecco.
Spherical in shape with a narrow neck, it features a brown glaze with mauve tones and subtle crystallised glazes.

Biography:

Antonio Alberto Lampecco (Minucciano, 1932) is a Belgian ceramist. He is best known for his round spherical vases. He moved with his family to Maredsous in 1949, where he acquired Belgian nationality, and later opened his own studio in Maredret (Namur, Belgium). He has exhibited in the Netherlands and abroad in major cities such as Florence, Paris and Lisbon. His ceramic work has won gold medals. Some of his works can be found in the Andenne ceramics museum and in collections around the world.
