Important 18th century curved chest on oak legs that belonged to the Swedish spice merchant Johan Eckerman.
German type, this trunk is dated 1776 and inlaid on the front with a two-coloured eight-pointed star (Rose des Vents).
The sides of this trunk are decorated with star-shaped imprints, these motifs seem to be oriental, surmounted by a cross, carved frieze at the base.
Beautiful original ironwork hinges, we note that the inside lock is missing.
Very nice original condition! It has simply been treated with fungicide and insecticide before being cleaned and waxed, it needed very little restoration (photo of the restorations on request).
